DPS commits to elevate women in the workplace.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – February 23, 2020 – DPS Skis accepted the ElevateHer Challenge to elevate women in business, joining 245 other businesses and organizations who have taken the corporate challenge sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI).
DPS Skis is one of 25 new companies that joined the ElevateHER Challenge in 2020. With the strenuous effects of the global COVID-19 Pandemic, DPS Skis understands the increased importance of helping women – especially women in the outdoor industry – succeed.
“DPS is proud to be a part of the ElevateHER Challenge and make meaningful progress in raising the stature and contribution among the growing number of women on our team,” said Alex Adema, DPS President and CEO. “Pat Jones and the Women’s Leadership Institute has provided meaningful support and has been highly engaged in the early stages of the process. We are excited to see where this leads us.”
The ElevateHER Challenge was started by WLI in 2015 as a way to proactively engage organizations and businesses to focus on one or more of six key areas: women in senior leadership, adding women to boards, retention rates of women, monitoring the gender pay gap, mentorship programs and encouraging women to run for political office.
“The EleveateHER Challenge is ideal because it’s research-based and non-prescriptive,” said Patricia Jones, CEO of the Women’s Leadership Institute. “The Challenge is very adaptable among a variety of company cultures. This lends well to success. We’ve seen how implementing this challenge can attract and retain talent and enhance return on investment. Alex Adema and DPS’ commitment to women's leadership is rare, and sets a great example for other companies in the outdoor industry.”
